Captain Of The Lost Waves Video Secures Film Festival Slots

“Another World” Set To Appear At Festivals In The UK, Slovakia & Croatia

“Another World”, the debut video by eccentric alt-indie troubadour Captain Of The Lost Waves has been selected for a number of film festivals across the UK and Europe! The clip, created by BAFTA winning animation studio, Fettle Animation, has been selected to appear at the Slovakia International Animation Festival, the Supertoon International Animation Festival in Croatia and will be part of the Show Me The Animation festival at the Cube Cinema in Bristol on Monday June 13th.

The single, which is set for release on June 13th, will donate half of its proceeds to the charity, CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). A charity set up to help deal with the rise of young male suicides within the UK. The Captain had this to say on the donation and the charity:

“CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) is a charity which provides sterling awareness & much needed support in light of male suicide. Now the biggest killer of men in the UK, aged 20-49. Yet the money spent on this research & treatment is but a fraction of other leading causes of death. The Captain would indeed ask others to dare forage into the much misunderstood, clandestine environment of where ' social conduct is narrow, limited, confined & albeit rigid...a compliance with a learnt, indoctrinated behaviour that no longer serves us as Men, or indeed as a race.

May 'open uncensored speech become a natural evolutionary 'tip of ones hat' ... The fact that we neither discuss such a topic in private or public is a major part of the problem itself. Every download bought goes a tiny way towards helping on a larger scale. Appreciation dear 'First Mates'

The Captain is set to release his debut album, “Hidden Gems – Chapter 1”, in September 2016 through the Brigand Broadcasting Company. It will be accompanied by a series of performances in unusual, bespoke, intimate and engaged settings.

A timeless troubadour, The Captain aims to create a concoction of music & interactive, intuitive performance, with no gig repeating the previous. Where sweet black cabaret meets a healthy dollop of vaudeville. Replete with an equal measure of joy, pathos and profundity it has to be seen to be believed.
Ahoy! Come aboard and sail with the Captain, an intergalactic time detective, whose mission has been to shed light on those who neither chased, courted nor endeared themselves to any audience. These are the lost stories and the hidden gems, much like The Captain himself!

Seep Away Stream New Single “Snakes” Through Pure Grain Audio

Band Announce Release Ahead Of UK Shows

York/Manchester-based noise-punks SEEP AWAY are pleased to announce the release of their new single, 'Snakes' on May 23. The exclusive stream of which has been announced through Pure Grain Audio!

Following a string of successful dates with the likes of Let's Talk Daggers, ...And The Hangnails and ((RSJ)), Seep Away will unleash two new tracks into the world - the aforementioned 'Snakes', alongside a b-side in the form of 'Again'. The single will also feature a remix of previously released track, 'Trudge' by Nero Bellum of US industrial-black-metal pioneers, Psyclon Nine. The new tracks were recorded at The White Rooms in York with Dan Whiting [Percy, AKP, GLASS].

Of 'Snakes' inspirations, guitarist/vocalist Max Watt comments: "It's a raw reactionary track about being fu**ked over. Y’know that feeling when everyone’s bull****ting you, and once they’re done using you they have no interest left, and the whole time you may as well have been talking to a wall? That. Everyone can relate in some form, I think.”

Seep Away's sound blends the aggression and power of early Black Flag with the raw energy of Melvins. Formed in late 2015, the four-piece have been working steadily to build a solid live reputation, with a second EP expected before the end of 2016.

'Snakes' is available to buy exclusively from the band's Bandcamp page from May 23 - https://seepaway.bandcamp.com for £1.

You can stream the single here over at Pure Grain Audio right now here - http://puregrainaudio.com/audio/seep-away-stream-new-single-snakes-exclusive-premiere

Seep Away is: Jay Sillence (vocals), Max Watt (guitar, vocals), Dani Barge (bass) and Dom Smith (drums).

Catch the band live on the following dates:

MAY
25 - Rebellion, Manchester (headline show)
29 - Fulford Arms, York (with One Way Street)

JUNE
10 - Fulford Arms, York (with Cannibal Animal)

ROBIN GEORGE AND DANGEROUS MUSIC'S NEW RELEASE, PAINFUL KISS

Robin George returns to his power trio origins with the new Dangerous Music album ‘Painful Kiss’.
This bedrock solid band features the powerhouse drums of Charlie Morgan (Elton John), the solid, melodic, thundering bass of Charley Charlesworth (Dangerous Music) and legendary cult guitar hero Robin George (Robert Plant, Phil Lynott, Thin Lizzy et al) guitars and vocals.

Star performances from special guests; Robin´s faithful friends the late great Pete Haycock (The Climax Blues Band) fabulous awe-inspiring slide guitar, Mel Collins (King Crimson) virtuoso, soaring saxophone and Jacquie Williams (Sister Sledge) superb soulful backing vocals.

The album features Robin´s original versions of many songs covered by household name artists over the years. A fascinating insight into Robin´s original writing as well as his inspired new songs.
Back to the roots in 2016 for Robin and Dangerous Music. Available everywhere through Angel Air Records.

'Robin George’s Painful Kiss album is a triumph of lyrical perfection and musical mastery: the crowning glory of a lifetime’s work. Get ready to be transported to a wild world of suffering and joy, darkness and light, love and loss, good and evil. It’s an intense journey and you’ll be hooked until the final track when you’ll be left panting for more Dangerous Music'.
'Robin in recent times has been very active and releases have come thick and fast, and once again Robin has put together a very strong release called "Painful Kiss". While some of these songs have been released before in different guises, what we are treated to here is a mixture of new songs, and very different versions and mixes of songs we already know'.

Band Enter Skyhammer Studios to track follow up to "Death Valley Duchess"

Following on from the rousing success of their 2012 record “Death Valley Duchess”, Nottingham stoner rock crew Widows are soon to head into Skyhammer Studios in Cheshire to record their new album “Oh, Deer God”, which is set for release in November 2016. Their first record with new bassist, Phil Emblin.

Guitarist James Kidd had this to say about the upcoming new release
“It's been a long time since our last release so we're super excited to be back in the studio and we are definitely bringing the riffs!.

With Phil joining us on bass, we’re finally writing as a whole band again. His influence has inevitably crept into the writing process and helped us evolve to come up with something darker and more aggressive than the last album. The new stuff is definitely more stripped back, and heavier than our previous offerings. Given the sound we’re going for with the 7 tracks on “Oh Deer God”, Skyhammer was the obvious choice.

Chris is a great engineer and Adam (vocals) and I had wanted to work with him for a long time before Skyhammer and Widows even existed.  He’s been at the helm of a bunch of excellent albums over the last few years so we know he’ll steer us right. Don’t worry though, that Widows groove is still firmly front and centre!”

Formed in 2008, Widows play music you can raise a beer and swing a fist to, and they do it hard, fast and loud. With bone crushing grooves and an undeniable swagger!

Influenced by the likes of Down, Kyuss, and Clutch, Widows released their debut EP, “Raise the Monolith”, in 2010. The subsequent shows bolstered their reputation as an impressive live band as they chewed up venues and damaged people’s hearing across the UK.

Their next album, Death Valley Duchess”, was recorded after a desert rock pilgrimage by members James and vocalist Adam to the Californian desert in a bid to inspire both the music and album artwork. It was released worldwide in 2012 followed by several tours across the UK, Europe and Scandinavia, and supported with playlisting on Kerrang! Radio and Propeller TV’s Metal Tuune and Tuune Rocks shows. All this next to a string of killer shows with Tombstones, Orange Goblin, and Valient Thorr. and festivals including Desert Fest 2012 (London), Waterfront Festival 2010/14 (Nottingham), Hockley Hustle 2014 (Nottingham), Riff Fest 2014 (Bolton) Macmillan Fest 2015 (Nottingham) and Mammothfest 2015 (Brighton).

Demons Of Old Metal Release Video For Raising The Horde

Summer 2016 promises to be a defining period for everybody's favourite denizens of hell, Demons of Old Metal.  Following a storming performance at the Mosh Against Cancer festival in Coventry this April, D.O.O.M. are now gearing up for four summer festivals starting with Wildfire in Scotland on June 24th.  This will be followed by their headline slot at SOPHIE Fest, Coventry on July 16th, then on to the Phoenix Alternative festival in Wales on August 13th and last, but not least, a return by popular demand to Beermageddon during the last weekend of August!

Demons of Old Metal are looking forward to adding to their burgeoning army of fans, 'The Demonic Horde' and have released a montage-style video for their nu-thrash classic, 'Fakeskin' to give potential new recruits a taster of what to expect when the band hit the stage.

The Demon express is leaving the station - time to get on board!

The video can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_bap1kEVP0

Formed at the tail end of 2010 by four veterans of the UK metal circuit with the sole intention of cranking out classically tinged metal and engulfing venues in a sea of blood, sweat and beers. Coupling a cracking knack for writing quality songs, their penchant for schlock horror imagery and an otherworldly stage show, DOOM set about putting together their debut record; “The Demonic Chronicles Vol I”. Released on Halloween 2012, the response from fans and the media alike was overwhelmingly positive and saw the band begin making a name for themselves.

In 2013 the band released “The Demonic Chronicles Vol. II”; a further addition to their stunning repertoire. This was followed in 2014 by the final part of "The Demonic Chronicles Trilogy" which was greeted with critical acclaim in Europe and the U.S. They proceeded to hit the road and carve their mark viciously into the psyche of the British live scene; scoring slots at Beermageddon in the UK, as well as shows in Ireland.

Simultaneously, they began work on their new record “Dominion”. Set for release on December 7th 2015, “Dominion” stands as a huge leap forward, as the band have pushed their musical boundaries and created a work that will no doubt appeal to fans of both the new and old schools. Tracks like ‘You Version 2.0’, ‘Fakeskin’ and ‘Behind The Mask’ are groove laden gems on a record full of brilliance. Tall and short of it; you need Demons Of Old Metal in your life.
