Corby sextet Raging Speedhorn have released a video for new single “Bring Out Your Dead” ahead of their upcoming run with Skindred!
The track, which received its debut on Dan Carter’s BBC Radio 1 Rock Show recently, was filmed during the band’s appearance at Download Festival earlier this year.
Guitarist Jim Palmer had this to say of the upcoming tour with Skindred:
“We've known those guys for years, Benji longer because of Dub War. We are really happy to be able to go out and play these shows with them, it's going to be so much fun. Skindred have grown into such an incredible band so it's an honour to be asked to do this. It'll be like stepping right back to those days in the early 2000's when we last shared a stage. Bring on the party!"
The new video can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-bUtjBxujI
Raging Speedhorn will appear on the following dates with Skindred:
Nov 1st - Warehouse23 – Wakefield w/Skindred & The Ever Living
Nov 9th - The Lemon Grove – Exeter w/ Skindred & Sanguine
Nov 10th – Roadmenders - Northampton (Sold Out)
Nov 11th - Junction 1 – Cambridge w/ Skindred & Skam
Nov 12th - O2 Academy – Oxford w/ Skindred & Evarose
Since reforming, Speedhorn have spent the last two years reminding the British metal crowd why they were, and still are, one of the most beloved and feared live bands on the planet. Between decimating small venues at flattening volume, with the raw power of a cocaine fuelled rhinoceros, the band have also annihilated stages at some of the UK’s biggest festivals; including Sonisphere, Bloodstock & Damnation, to name a few.
Away from the beer soaked live circuit, Speedhorn have busied themselves in the studio, with 2015’s “Halfway To Hell”. The single received its debut on the Radio 1 Rock Show, and went on to receive national airplay across Europe. While its accompanying video scored its first screening on Scuzz TV. The track was later picked up for a Split 7” with New Jersey space rockers Monster Magnet through German label, H42 Records.
One thing above all is clear; Raging Speedhorn are back. And there’s not a pair of eardrums or a stage in the land they won’t rip to shreds.

Northern Rockers Skies Turn Black Release New Video
Northern hard rockers Skies Turn Black have released the video for their new single “Life Goes On”. Released digitally on October 17th, bassist Dan Woodhead said this of the track: "The track is about falling for someone who is clearly bad news, but it just can’t be helped and running back into a bad situation feels like the only option. Being so frustrated one moment then completely besotted. Hence the more aggressive verses and the sweeter chorus."
The video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzB-czX00hE
Skies Turn Black formed in 2011, since then they have supported international touring acts such as Malefice, EYE, Double Experience, and New Device. After a few line up changes and arrival of the new bass player, Skies Turn Black are basing themselves in Huddersfield, but venturing to Leeds, Manchester, Bolton, Hull and Liverpool on a regular basis.
Following on from the release of their debut EP in 2015, the band are currently busying themselves preparing for the release of their new album and playing regularly throughout the UK. With a killer sound, and the chops to back it up, Skies Turn Black have what it takes to go to the next level. Keep an eye on these guys.

LÅNGFINGER: Gothenburg Power Trio Premieres “Fox Confessor” Video - "Crossyears" Full-Length Out Now On Small Stone
Gothenburg power trio LÅNGFINGER issued their Crossyears full-length via Small Stone late last month. The ten-track offering was recorded by Johan Reivén and Olle Björck at Sweden’s Welfare Sounds Studio with additional recordings by LÅNGFINGER at Beduin HQ, mixed by Olle Björck, and mastered by Daniel Johansson.
In celebration of its release their brand new video for the track “Fox Confessor,” is available. The Obelisk is issuing, “Crossyears comes jammed with premium boogie and classic songcraft delivered with a new generation’s energy. One need look no further than the track ‘Fox Confessor’ for clear demonstration of all of the above. The side A cut finds itself a comfortable pace and builds tension in its verse only to let loose in a righteous hooked backed up by spacious lead guitar. Then they turn around and do it all again. Another round for everybody. That, incidentally, could also be said to be the theme of the video, though LÅNGFINGER push deeper into narrative than just playing a show and selling their amps (and dog) for alcohol after being stiffed by the club owner, actually going so far as to take revenge on the club owner themselves. Street justice! They wind up living the high life on a rooftop, praising high art and chipping golf balls into the urban setting below. You know, as one does. It’s about a four-minute clip to tell this story, and about a three-minute song underneath, so efficiency is a major factor here to be sure, but LÅNGFINGER don’t need any more time than they take in order to make an impression. Crossyears benefits across its span from their clarity of purpose as much as it does from their choice riffing and rhythmic fluidity."
The band elaborates about the video: “’Fox Confessor’ is the first collaboration between LÅNGFINGER and cinematographer Anders Bryngel. We were exploring the idea of working together for some years and with the new album looming, it was more appropriate than ever. One day we devised a syndicate. We then determined that the effort should be focused on a narrative and as the storyline progressed we let it evolve naturally with the group’s dynamic. A spontaneous process driven by our collective efforts. As for the actual song, which like many of our songs, established itself as an instrumental; was inspired by our favorite Krautrock bands from the late sixties. That was before spending some time in rural Argentina. The lyrics began as rough scribbles, and in the attempt to characterize the broad landscape, which seemed to encompass most of the days spent there, a sort of comic relief broke out into lyric.”

A truly kick ass power trio is quite possibly the perfect rock formation. If there aren’t that many trios around, that’s because it’s a hard thing to pull off: with just three people having to nail the rhythmic fusion of bass and drums, the wild colors of guitar, and the soul-grabbing focus of the human voice, there can be no passengers aboard. Extraordinary chemistry is essential. Everyone has to be right on it, and locked in. Which is why lots of trios fail, or cop out, and recruit extras.
The members of LÅNGFINGER, hailing from the fertile rock ‘n’ roll city of Gothenburg, are masters of the art. They’ve been playing together since they were in their early teens, and their imminent third album is both the thrilling culmination of their collective endeavor, and a rumination on it – on how time has shaped them and brought them to this point. Within its hard-hitting grooves, the interlocking of LÅNGFINGER’s three disparate characters – Kalle Lilja, the unflappable, precision axeman; Jesper Pihl, the athletic sticksman battering out physical revenge on his kit; and Victor Crusner, the intense, exploratory spirit, bridging thundering bass and howling exorcism – is a magical proposition.

Russia's female fronted dark industrial metal band CONFLICT release stunning dystopian promo video
Russia’s number one industrial metal band, Conflict, have released an incredible new promo video for the track ‘Mechanism Of Life’, taken from the band’s devastating second full length album, Transform Into A Human. It presents a disturbing vision of a dark future, where the lines between man and machine have become irrevocably blurred. The band explore fundamental questions about the nature of humanity over a sonic backdrop of steel-plated riffs, machine driven rhythms and swathes of bleak melody. Front woman Anna provides a fiery focal point, a visually and vocally commanding presence that draws you into the dystopian world of ‘Mechanism Of Life’.
Conflict’s metallic muscle has been honed to fearsome perfection by engineer Greg Reely, who has worked with the likes of Fear Factory, Devin Townsend and Paradise Lost, which allows the breathtaking power of the song to shine through the dark shadows of the video’s imagery.
The video – one of the finest you’ll see this year or any other, is available here, so please watch and share – spread the word of Conflict’s dire warning.

The Malta Doom Metal Festival
Established in 2009, the Malta Doom Metal festival (MDM) returns on October 21st and 22nd, 2016 at Chateaux Buskett, Rabat, Malta for its Eighth edition. The festival has grown from strength to strength since its first edition (headlined by Italian legends Dark Quarterer) and is now a regular, annual appointment for doom and old school metal acolytes in Malta and beyond. Ever since the festival’s inception, the MDM team have demonstrated unflinching commitment to host the very best that the doom and old school metal scenes have to offer - as all previous MDM editions may attest. And this year’s behemoth edition is no exception, with a mammoth, mouth-watering line-up to die for! From the molten godly epic doom of MONASTERIUM (Poland), DESOLATE PATHWAY (UK), and TRINAKRIUS (Italy), to the primal Hellhammer worshippers WARHAMMER (Germany), the ritualistic sludge attack of BARABBAS (France), on to the arcane, majestic doom of Canada’s CAUCHEMAR, the savage black-thrash onslaught of trailblazers BUNKER 66 (Italy) and the doom laden grooves of Sweden’s MORTALICUM, this year’s MDM is indeed a must for all those initiated in the purity of the path of olde. Further undisputable quality is added to this year’s killer edition with the pure cult prog-folk doom of NORTHWINDS (France), the seminal doom-death Dutch gods PHLEBOTOMIZED and Brazilian legends MYTHOLOGICAL COLD TOWERS! We shall be further entertained by MEN OF MAYHEM’s sizzling stoner doom and the MALTA DIO’s DISCIPLES’ most apt tribute to the master RJD. Could this already blistering line-up of poser-decapitating bands have been topped you might ask? Yes, it could, with this year’s headliners – doom gods PLACE OF SKULLS and old school death metal elite vanguards MASTER - adding even more immensity to this year’s colossal line-up. One of Malta’s leading metal DJs – DJ Toty – will be spinning an old school metal set while the proceedings on stage unfold. Let the head-banging and true metal worship commence! MDM is here!

Since forming in 2011, Hertfordshire based quintet Outright Resistance wasted no time erupting onto the British metal scene with their debut release “Don’t Eat My Organs”. They quickly began racking up shows across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & London. Including shows with Hacktivist and hardcore mob TRC.
Fast forward to 2015; Outright Resistance released the “Poveglia EP” to solid praise from both the media & the wider metal community. Their message of unity rang true in their video for the song “We Are Here”; a heart-warming statement from a band determined to remind people struggling that they are not alone, nor should they be forced to deal with their problems as such if they don’t want to.
The band went on to become one of six finalists in the 2015 London arm of the Bloodstock Metal to the Masses competition. Despite not making it to the New Blood Stage, the quintet continued their widespread assault across the country with an eight-day DIY tour with Norwich based metalcore quintet Silenced By Shadows in July of that year.
Following on from their successful 14 date Sum Kind Of Plague tour in March, the band have returned with their latest release “Me Vs I”. With a slew of dates lined up across the UK and Ireland, Outright Resistance are geared up once again to unleash their uncompromising assault to the masses

LÅNGFINGER: Crossyears Full-Length From Gothenburg Power Trio Out Now And Streaming
Crossyears, the anticipated new full-length from Gothenburg power trio LÅNGFINGER, is out TODAY via Small Stone. The ten-track offering was recorded by Johan Reivén and Olle Björck at Sweden’s Welfare Sounds Studio with additional recordings by LÅNGFINGER at Beduin HQ, mixed by Olle Björck, and mastered by Daniel Johansson. Wrote the The Obelisk of the recording, “From the swing and stomp of its title-track to the organ-laced grandeur of ‘Atlas,’ the record brims with classic spirit, but casts off the stylistic restrictiveness of vintage production in favor of a full, vibrant sound, resulting in a mix that brings out the strengths of both without sacrificing the obvious chemistry the band has built over their time together. Also it rocks. Confidently.”
“Crossyears is not only honoring the music we listened to in our adolescence,” relays the band, “but it’s also the embodiment of our relentless attitude and eagerness to claim new musical ground. Our goal was not to promote an experimental journey, rather the opposite. The years of performing live and the countless hours rehearsing in our quarter provided us the opportunity to head straight for our indisputable roots, rip them up and make something loud out of it. This is our most authentic and straightforward record to date.”
LÅNGFINGER’s Crossyears is currently streaming in its entirety at THIS LOCATION.
