Following a whirlwind year in promotion of their new album “Lost Ritual” including stops at Desertfest & Download Festival, Corby sextet Raging Speedhorn have announced they will be unable to play any further shows in 2016.
The band have made the following announcement:
“It is with great sadness that we have to announce the cancellation of all our shows for the remainder of 2016 and the immediate cease in activity until the New Year. Raging Speedhorn is a unit, we work together or not at all and right now we need to be together to take care of one of our number. We hope you understand that we don't want to go into details or go public with any information other than to say we will be back in the New Year. This is just something we have to do so we can make sure we can come back in 2017 fully ready for anything it has to throw at us. I hope you will understand and respect our privacy in this matter.
We'd like to say sorry to all the promoters who've booked us, bands who were due to play shows with us and fans who are attending any of the shows we had booked for the remainder of the year. We hope any shows that still go ahead will still be attended, if possible, and that you have a great time with us in mind. You the fans are why we do this and without you we are nothing. All of us are forever grateful for everything you do in support of the Horn, you are like family to us. Right now, we need to regroup and take care of our own.
Party hard, take care of one another and see you in 2017.”
The band have asked for privacy for the time being on the matter and insist they will return in 2017.

UK thrashers Solitary sign to UKEM and release new video & single
The UK thrash masters have signed a new deal with UKEM Records, to release the first brand new Solitary studio album in more than eight years. UKEM are a label fast establishing themselves as major players in the underground scene, with a hunger to succeed that matches Solitary’s own. With this fiercely driven partnership in place and an album to promote that takes British thrash metal to new heights, 2017 should be an exciting year for both band and label.
Asked about the signing with UKEM, Solitary’s front man Rich Sherrington had this to say:
“We are all very proud of the songs on this album and how it sounds. Working with producer Simon Efemey gave us a renewed belief in what we could achieve, so it was essential that we signed to a label with the same level of enthusiasm and with UKEM we have found the perfect match. Having been on UK labels previously we were keen for that to continue. 2017 is shaping up to be mega for us! Having the album come out in time for us playing at Hammerfest and then returning to London with Acid Reign is perfect. Hopefully there will be more to come after that as well, but having UKEM join our existing team of metal brothers can only mean that more people will get to hear and experience our metal.”
Details of the new Solitary album will be emerging soon, but today you can feast your eyes on the new video for ferocious single ‘Unidentified’. The video has been created by Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art, who has also recently worked with Flotsam And Jetsam, and like the song itself it pulls no punches.
The ‘Unidentified’ single is available to download now from Solitary Bandcamp page as well as all usual digital download platforms.
The album will be released in the Spring, in time for Solitary’s appearance at Hammerfest and their London show with Acid Reign, with many more shows to follow.
